The peoples of the Arctic have created a unique material and spiritual culture. The Arctic and its harsh nature were the cradle for many generations of indigenous northerners, and they reflected their experience of environment management and adaptation to northern latitudes in their customs and beliefs. It was thanks to the respectful and caring attitude towards Mother Nature that man survived in the North and preserved his habitat. The ecological experience of the Northern peoples was passed down from generation to generation as a norm of behavior, as the highest moral law bequeathed by the ancestors.
